Back at home.

I am missing this:
and this....
But I'm loving this:
I cannot say that fall/winter is my favorite season.
It is not.
I love the sweaters, the crackling fires, and the changing leaves.... but it's not my favorite. I know what's coming, and what's coming is darkness, cold & snow! I can find beauty in it, but I have to always keep my attitude in check as I can get depressed far too easily. I love summer, heat, long days & playing outside (comfortably!!). We love Arizona and it was so hard to leave.
HOWEVER, it's good to be all together, in this I am thankful!
This week the holiday ended and school was back in session. The days seemed long, so today we did more life-skills than bookwork. I'm going to revamp the schedule (again) and make our M-Th full days and Friday's we'll just do Language & Math. Now that the cooler days are upon us we'll get a pass at our local recreation center and go swimming Friday mornings and do the minimum for bookwork. Ease into the weekend {wink}.
So this morning Joshua made scrambled eggs for breakfast and we all worked together as a team and got some cleaning & household chores done.
Matthew enjoyed washing the mirrors (thank you Norwex products!!)
Joshua did a bang-up job baby-proofing the kitchen lower cupboards.
Megan did dinner prep (Slow Cooker Lasagna) and also made my snack to take to a Stamping Party I'm going to tomorrow afternoon!
Here's a quick recipe for you:
Grab yourself some mini pretzels, hershey kisses (or milk buds!) and smarties (or M&Ms).
Place the pretzels on a cookie sheet and top with chocolate. Bake in a preheated 350 oven for 2-3 minutes {just until the chocolate starts to melt}. Remove from oven and immediately press a smartie into each one. Cool (on the counter in the winter or in your fridge during the summer) so that the chocolate hardens. Then enjoy. Sweet & salty... does it get better than that?
And Sarah learned (after much practice on our road-trip!) how to blow a bubble!
Perhaps educationally this is not essential, but as far as confidence booster it scores HIGH! :)
She also helped me with heaps of laundry!

Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will serve before kings; he will not serve before obscure men.
Proverbs 22:29
